Artificial intelligence (AI) can be used to improve inclusion in the workplace in a number of ways. For example, AI-powered tools can be used to automatically identify and remove unconscious bias in the hiring process, helping to ensure that candidates are evaluated based on their qualifications and skills rather than their gender, race, or other personal characteristics.

As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes more prevalent in the enterprise, organizations that are using AI to target business transformation, enhanced decision-making, and systems modernization simultaneously are seeing the most success. These “AI leaders” are also using AI to solve more complex business decisions around diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace. However, organizations are being cautious and are not fully delegating these processes to AI, but rather are augmenting them with AI. This is due to AI’s history of causing harm in terms of DEI in the workplace, with biased algorithms discriminating against women and non-white job candidates. To address this issue, 45% of AI leaders have plans to address issues of fairness in their AI systems in 2022.

AI can also be used to improve diversity in the workplace. For example, an AI-powered system might be able to identify underrepresented groups within an organization and make recommendations for ways to increase their representation. This could include providing targeted training and development opportunities, as well as implementing flexible work arrangements and other initiatives to support the retention and advancement of underrepresented groups.

Additionally, AI can be used to improve accessibility in the workplace. For example, an AI-powered system might be able to automatically generate transcripts of meetings or other events, allowing individuals with hearing impairments to fully participate and access the information being discussed. AI can also be used to develop tools and technologies that make it easier for individuals with disabilities to perform their job tasks and fully participate in the workplace.

Overall, AI has the potential to significantly improve inclusion in the workplace by helping to reduce unconscious bias, increase diversity, and improve accessibility. By leveraging the power of AI, organizations can create a more inclusive and equitable workplace for all employees.
